How's Your Internet Business Going?

Being able to work from home online is a dream come true! You should be excited. So why aren't you? Let me take a guess.

This is what I bet happens:

1. You get a new idea or a new marketing technique and you're all pumped up about it. You've just found the "silver bullet" to your success. You can't wait to get out of bed to get started.

2. You do your due diligence, create a kick-ass website with great content, killer pictures and all the bells and whistles.

3. After you finish all the "cool stuff", it's time to get cranking on website promotion.

4. You buy the latest and greatest programs and courses that promise to make you millions, but soon reality kicks in and you figure out that no matter what toys you purchase to make the job easier, you still have to do the work.

5. After a while, you start dreading the mundane tasks required to grow your business. Nothing is as easy as "they" make it out to be.

6. Then the next latest and greatest opportunity comes along and you repeat the cycle.

7. You never seem to complete anything because you're so distracted by every new program that comes along promising you riches on auto-pilot.

8. You find yourself with 20 windows open on your browser and each one contains a new offering that you can't live without. You lose all focus and get depressed because you're never going to make any money online.

Did I get it right? I bet I did. I know the routine because I used to do it, too. Somewhere along the way, I should have gotten a clue that the phrase "work from home online" contained the word "work."

But let me assure you, there is no quick and easy way to build a business online. Don't be misled by those who claim they have the answer to creating wealth without work (or risk).

The only way you won't succeed is if you just walk away and quit. If you're at that point, just step back and try to remember why you started this in the first place. If you just push forward and focus on achieving your goals, you will be successful. No matter how much effort it takes to accomplish your goals, it has to be better than working for someone else. Right?

If you put the time and effort into building your business, it will pay off like you can't even imagine.

Work From Home Online: Does Article Writing Give You the Heebie Jeebies?

For anyone trying to make it in the work from home online business, it's not uncommon to hear over and over that "content is king". Well, they're right - it's hard to get your point across or to make a compelling case for selling something if your website doesn't have some well written content on it. But if you're not a very good writer, what do you do?

If you don't have the means to outsource the writing of your website content/articles/blog, you will need to learn how to do it yourself. The first step is research - start looking for and reading content already published on the subject . You'll be shocked at just how much information you can find online by simply conducting a search on Google, Yahoo, or Ezine Articles.

You can learn a lot about your niche from other people's websites but under no circumstances should you "borrow" their content and try to pass it off as your own. That's just bad business.

Instead, try to put together a summary of what you've learned from several sources. Put it in your own words and write it like you're talking to someone. Keep it simple and be natural - don't try to emulate someone else's style. There are some extremely talented writers out there but don't let that intimidate you. More often than not, the people who write their own blogs and articles are not professional writers.

You can start by using an outline and then go back and fill in the "meat" of the points. Once you get used to conducting research and then writing about the subject, you'll start to gain more confidence because you will know and understand your niche much better. Your writing will improve as a result - it will be more natural.

Most people don't want to publish an article in their own name while they are honing their writing skills. That's an easy obstacle to overcome - simply choose another name for publishing your content.

Overcoming the fear of writing an article is not hard if you simply put forth the effort. And you'll find that it's well worth the effort because when you master it, you'll be able to sit down at the computer and write at will because you'll have confidence in your ability.
